The event will feature a presentation of the book by the editor, Anna Watz, followed by contributors’ readings of selected pieces of writing by Kay Sage, Claude Cahun, Leonora Carrington, Suzanne Césaire, Leonor Fini, Dorothea Tanning, and Rikki Ducornet. Participating contributors include:

Jeannette Baxter (Anglia Ruskin University)

Kate Conley (William and Mary)

Jonathan P. Eburne (Pennsylvania State University)

Felicity Gee (Exeter University)

Catriona McAra (Leeds Arts University)

Kristoffer Noheden (Stockholm University)

Kara Rabbitt (William Paterson University)

Anna Watz (Linköping University).

The event is in collaboration with Manchester University Press and participants will be able to purchase the book directly from MUP with a 40% discount. The discount code will be shared at the event and is valid until 30/04/21.

The conversation will be moderated by Molly Gilroy, co-founder and editor of The Debutante: The Feminist-Surrealist Arts Journal.

It would be wonderful to see the ISSS community join us on Sunday 18 April, to celebrate the first sustained critical inquiry into the writing of women associated with surrealism. Tickets are free and available via Eventbrite, here.
